Mary & Jacques Regat
Jacques & Mary Regat, a husband and wife sculpting team from Alaska, met and married there over twenty years ago and began combining their talents to create pieces of sculpture which extend beyond what either could do alone. Jacques' career began in France, where he taught himself to paint and carve in clay, wood, and stone. Mary began sculpting while living in a remote logging camp in Southeast Alaska. Their strong sense of kinship and respect for the cultural myths and history of Alaska's native peoples has become an inspirational theme reflected in many of their works of bronze sculpture.
